seuil hotel provides a series of thresholds that bring a visitor from denver's urban energy to a place of calm, utilizing precast concrete as the main structural elements. sharper exterior details and softer, more organic interior design combine for an experience of pause in an otherwise movement-focused urban environment.

entry render. the angled subtracted shape aims to reflect the sharpness of the street corner, while providing a clear but subdued point of entry from the urban to the serene within.

lobby floor plan. visitors rise from the ground-floor entry and exit from the southeast elevator to the second-floor lobby. this is the first major threshold.

typical room level floor plan. corridors run along the outside, with all rooms facing the centered atrium.

typical guest room render. simplifying the material palette to concrete, wood, and light allows a focus on natural materials and a more cavernous space within, while avoiding harshness from direct lighting.

floor-to-wall detail. to meet passive house standards, exterior walls are 18" thick, with all precast facades being both structural and architectural.

wall-to-wall detail. hollow-core panels provide strength and spatial efficiency, allowing for a larger contrast between soffit spaces and high-ceiling spaces within guest rooms.

meditation room render. an integral part of the top-floor spa, this space provides a circular meditation area with natural rock walls and an oculus above, creating a space with constant light and shadow movement throughout the day.
